(a) Using My Own Ideas - a personal experience
This week I had the chance to use and test several more of my creative ideas. I was asked to give the keynote lecture for the 2007 first meeting of the Israeli Training Community. The Training Community is an activity held by the Israeli Society For Human Resource Management (ISHRM).
I found it to be a great opportunity to get to know them members of the society, as well as a chance to realize how some of my own ideas work in practice.
I have prepared an English translation of the first part of my lecture, and uploaded to the Best100Ideas.com website - so that you may get some inspiration from it as well.
Read more about it and download the presentation in section (d) below.

(b) Creative Ideas for Mother's Day
Mother's Day is due in about a week (May 13th, 2007).
In this issue I have decided to include some original ideas which you may use to celebrate it in a special way.
Hopefully, it will help make your mothers at least a little bit happier...
By the way - you don't have to tell them you got the ideas from Best100Ideas.com.
In this case - you may take the credit to yourself...
Here are the creative ideas for a unique Mother's Day celebration:
- An Article in her Honor: Write and dedicate a special article to your mother. The article content may be related to something that your mother is or was involved in - her profession, a hobby of hers, something she is especially good at. The article may be written in a serious academic style, or in a lighter, more daily, approach. In any case - it should include a mention of your mother - perhaps even quoting her as an expert on the issue, or demonstrating the important principles in your article through examples of your mother's actions and activities.
As for place you may publish the article - the options are plentiful. You may send the article to a local newspaper, publish it on the Internet (on website that enable people to post articles - ezinearticle.com is one of my personal favorites; in a Blog; in a special website you build for your mother), or even print a special edition of the printed article or articles and distribute it among family and friends.
- M.O.T.H.E.R Six-Fold Celebration: Instead of celebrating Mother's Day through a single idea, this idea involves six different ways to celebrate during the same day. The six ideas should begin with the six letters that make up the word "Mother". You could choose the six parts of the celebration by yourself according to things that you think your mother would like, or you could let your mother choose from several options or ideas that you would prepare in advance.
Example ideas that may fit the letters are:
M could stand for Movies, Make-up workshop, Moroccan Belly Dancing, Mystery novel reading.
O could be Outdoor Jacuzzi, Opera, Organic breakfast, or Open Source programming...
T may give you the chance to experience Tap dancing, Turbo car racing, or simply Tea with biscuits.
H is a good time for a Harmonica lesson, Happy Hour at the pub, Holmes Place, or an Honest and open talk.
E could be Electric guitar playing or concert, Empanadas at the corner deli, and a show on E!-TV.
R makes me think of a Relaxing massage, a Romantic dinner for mother and father, or a Rapper show!!!
Another option is to build this list of small celebrations so that they constitute the letters of your mother's name.
- The Seven Wonders of Motherhood: In this idea you have to think of the major 7 incredible things that your mother has done for you or for other members of the family or close friends. You then need to turn these seven magnificent achievements into a kind of museum exhibition that demonstrates and glorifies her actions.
For instance, if one of the wonderful things that your mother has been responsible for is the tasty meals that she always makes, you may take close-up photos of her specialty dishes, print them on big posters, and exhibit the dish "collection" in one room. Another room may be dedicated to her good taste in interior design and may include quotations of people she has given interior design advice, or
examples of interior design ingenuity.
These are the ideas for this issue. Happy Mother's Day all you great mothers out there!

(c) Creative Tool: Mind Maps
Mind Maps are powerful tools that have various related uses. They may be used for analyzing a subject, for take quick notes that help you recall the major points in a discussion or lecture, for structuring an argument and more.
Since the focus of this newsletter is on Creativity, I will concentrate on the use of Mind Maps as a part of a creative idea generation process.
Quite a number of the creativity tools I have been describing in previous issues of this newsletter are based on the approach of manipulating existing elements of the subject, product, service or process in order to come up with creative ideas. For example - the seven SCAMPER creativity tools described on July 2006 issue of the newsletter are in fact ways of asking yourself various questions on these elements - what can Substitute an element, which elements may be Combined, how can the elements be Rearranged, etc.
Mind Maps offer a clear visual representation of the elements that you may play with, grouping them into categories and sub-categories. By doing so, they help you visualize the new connections you'd like to create among elements of the product/service/process and its environment.
To make the explanation clearer, I have prepared an example Mind Map on the subject of Presentations.
You may see this Presentation Mind Map here. Of course - I could have continued to make this map even more detailed and exhaustive.
A Mind Map of this sorts can be used for coming up with Creative Presentation Ideas - such as the ones in the 100 Creative Presentation Ideas E-book. By using various creativity tools, what you need to do next is start manipulating the things that appear on your map.

| (d) New on Best100Ideas.com
As I mentioned above, this week I gave the keynote lecture for the Israeli Training Community meeting.
It was a challenging lecture to prepare, as the participants are highly experience professionals in the field of training (there were training managers and specialists, consultants, HR managers and directors, as well as academics and scholars in the fields of training and training development).
I decided to go back to my own 100 Creative Presentation Ideas E-book for ideas.
The first part of my lecture included 5 ideas - which I actually used on my audience.
For instance - the creative idea for a special training session atmosphere was the one offering to create a movie-like atmosphere. We prepared some popcorn in advance, and brought it in at the right moment.
I have translated the first part of the lecture presentation the English (originally Hebrew), and uploaded it to Best100Ideas.com website so that you may review and learn from it.
Here is a direct link to downloading the
Creative Training Ideas presentation.
Enjoy.

(e) Recommendation of the month: Selfgrowth.com
SelfGrowth.com is the best self improvement website I have come across on the web.
The quantity of the resources on the website is overwhelming. It includes sections on success skills, relationships, health & fitness, finances, mental health, spirituality, and diet & nutrition. All of these subjects are divided into an amazing list of sub-categories, on which you may find numerous articles, websites, experts and products.
There are also inspirational quotes, lots of active discussion boards, a website directory, 16 self-improvement newsletters to choose from. I can testify that the managers of the SelfGrowth.com website are always looking for and adding new features and services to this already incredible website.
